Absorption Testing for Q-CEL®
In addition to other physical properties testing, absorption characteristics are assured through careful testing and control using test methods derived from ISO 9073-6 “Textiles — Test methods for nonwovens — Part 6: Absorption”. Further information regarding International Organization for Standardization testing parameters can be obtained from www.iso.org.
Flame Resistant Testing of Q-CEL®
The ASTM E84 Standard Test Method is used to determine the response of materials to heat and flame under controlled conditions.
Samples of the EverSoak® Brand were tested in accordance with the ASTM E84 standard in 2007-08, by SGS U.S. Testing Company, Inc. Preferred, Standard, and Basic lines met Class A for flame spread and smoke density requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Further information regarding American Society for Testing and Materials testing parameters can be obtained from www.astm.org.
Out of possible Class A, B, or C NFPA ratings for fire retardancy, Sellars EverSoak® Brand Preferred, Standard, and Basic met Class A for flame spread and smoke density.
