Production Shift Leader – 2nd Shift
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working candidate with experience as a working team or shift leader in a manufacturing environment to provide over-all leadership for the 2nd shift team members in our paper converting facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate personal safety and help maintain a safe work environment for themselves and the other members of the production team.
- Equipment set-up, adjustment and operation.
- Will be cross-trained to operate all paper converting machines.
- Step-in when needed to perform any of the production responsibilities
- Guide the training of new machine operators on each machine.
- Perform routine maintenance on each production asset as needed.
- Assist maintenance technicians as needed.
- Production reporting for the shift.
- Work cooperatively and effectively communicate with incoming and outgoing shift leaders and maintenance technicians.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and coaching skills with the capability to deal with issues in a positive and complete manner.
- Flexibility in work assignments.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Prior lift truck experience is preferred.
Candidates must also be able to meet the physical demands of the position:
- Position requires constant walking or standing.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to move with ease around the paper converting equipment.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years experience as a team leader; leading a team of 5 or more.
- Minimum of five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience working in a continuous production process is preferred.
- Prior experience working in the printing, paper production or paper converting industries is preferred.
